Notification & confirmation emails

Get emailed when responses arrive, and send respondents a branded confirmation automatically.

There are two kinds of email a form can send on submission: a notification to you (the owner), and a confirmation (autoresponder) to the respondent. Configure both in the After submit area.

Owner notifications

  • Send to — one or more email addresses to alert on every new response.
  • Subject — customizable, with piping (defaults to “New submission: {form title}”).
  • Reply-to — point replies at a field’s value (e.g. the respondent’s email), so you can reply straight from your inbox.
  • From name — the sender name recipients see.

The email includes a tidy table of the submitted answers.

Confirmation email (autoresponder)

Turn this on to email the respondent a branded confirmation. You choose the email field to send to, and can set:

  • Subject, heading and body — all support piping (“Thanks, {{first_name}}!”).
  • An optional summary of their answers.
  • A call-to-action button (with link) and a footer line.
  • A from name. The email picks up your form’s logo and accent color automatically.
Note

Emails are sent on a best-effort basis right after the response is saved — a delivery hiccup never causes a respondent to lose their submission.

Heads up

Delivery depends on your email sending setup (the address forms send from must be verified with your email provider). If notifications aren’t arriving, see Troubleshooting.
